I am envious of those who do. I wonder- what do I NOT do that those others do in order to get it? - I would LOVE some fanart! That's my fandom wish. I would absolutely adore some art from anything I've written, because I think that is so neat to be able to *see* something in an artistic format different than your writing, to see if someone else interpreted your image the way you yourself did when writing it. That would be awesome. I've had one fanart thing and I still go look at it. *G* - some fanart would make me happy for weeks. - I would love love love for any scene from any of my fics to be drawn as fanart. - What I would love is for someone to do some fanart for one of my stories. - i'm with most of the people here when i say i would adore fanart. I keep wondering why i haven't gotten any, and it makes me doubt myself even more then usual. Er. Enough with the emo. - Also, I would totally prostitute myself for more fanart drawn for ME. Someone drew me some last year after I said I wanted some in the wishlist meme, and I about died of squee. :) - Fanart, man. What do I have to do (aside from actually commission something) to get fanart in HP? I've gotten two pieces I love but I want more! I always see people on my flist posting about how someone drew them fanart and I am green with envy! Or maybe that's vomit... Hmm... - The other thing is fanart for a particular fic. I'm not going to lie and say that it twists my guts into jealous knots when I see some of the gorgeous artwork done for someone's fic or favorite pairing, when the three or four times I've dredged up the nerve to request something, I've been ignored. [Quoted from starrysummer's Fandom Secret Wishes meme]This is a challenge, open to all artists in the Harry Potter fandom, to draw something for a fic they've always liked, an author they believe deserves art, or just to randomly gift someone obscure with something nice. And it is completely anonymous. Artists will post under this lj name: they may choose to alter their regular style, or not. They can just give a doodle, or something taking hours and hours to accomplish. There are no real rules besides the anonymity one. The masterlist, complete with artist names and links to pieces and fics, will be publicized on December 24th, Christmas Eve. MOST IMPORTANTLY I'm afraid that the recipient would be like, insulted or something that it's not a good artist that wanted to draw for them. IT makes me keep long lists of stories that I want to draw fanart for that I never do. I'd be afraid that someone would recieve the art and be like, "oh, that's nice, but I wish one of the real fanartists would have drawn for my fic. I don't think it matters *who* makes the fan art, or how good (or bad) you think you are; fan art of any kind means that someone received such a strong visual that they needed to express it in their own way, that sort of feedback is like... WHOA. :D :D Some of the best kind.
